Do I need a physician referral to come to Pediatric Possibilities?
No you do not. We can send a fax to your physician requesting a referral if needed.
May I observe my child's evaluation/treatment?
Absolutely. We want you to be involved in the therapy process. Some parents choose to sit in the lobby, some observe from the observation room, and others prefer to come into the clinic and join the session. We want you to feel comfortable and understand how you can support your child.
How do I prepare for the evaluation?
To make your first visit go as smoothly as possible, our Administrative Staff will email you New Client Paperwork that you can submit online. Please complete this paperwork before you arrive for your first visit. Completing the background information prior to your appointment allows your child’s therapist to better coordinate the evaluation process. Go to the Preparing for Your First Visit page on our site to help you and your child know what to expect on the first visit. There is a Social Story along with a video tour of the facility!
What can I expect from the first visit?
The first occupational therapy visit will include a discussion between you, your child, and the therapist. The therapist will use a variety of tests and observations to assess the strengths and needs of your child. At the end of the session, your therapist will determine the frequency and duration of therapy sessions, shall they be warranted. Your therapist will then work on a written report of evaluation findings.
How do I set up my appointments?
After your therapist has discussed frequency of visits with you, you will work with front desk staff to establish an ongoing therapy time .
